ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relationship between serum resistin, leptin and adiponectin with microangiopathy in the patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods One hundred and twenty patients with T2DM in our hospital were selected and divided into the non-microangiopathy group (NON-MAP,60 cases) and microangiopathy group (MAP,60 cases) according to whether complicating microangiopathy.Other 60 individuals undergoing healthy physical examination were selected as the normal control group(NC).Fasting serum resistin, adiponectin and leptin levels were detected in each group.Fasting blood glucose, insulin and blood lipid levels were also detected. The insulin resistance was evaluated by using insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR).Results The levels of serum resistin, leptin, free fat acid(FFA) and hs-CRP in the NON-MVP group and MVP group were signifi cantly higher than those in the NC group, while the adiponectin level was sigrnificantly lower than that in the NC group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The correlation analysis showed that serum resistin and leptin levels had positive correlation with hs-CRP,FFA,HOMA-IR and TG(P<0.05),and had negative correlation with HDL-C(P<0.05);the adiponectin level was negatively correlated with hs-CRP,FFA,HOMA-IR and TG,while positively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.05);serum resistin and leptin levels had positive correlation, both had significantly negative correlation with adiponectin;with serum resistin, leptin and adiponectin as the dependent variables, the multiple stepwise linear regression analysis showed that HOMA-IR and waist to hip ratio had maximal influence on them. Conclusion Serum resistin and leptin levels increase and adiponectin level decrease in T2DM patients suggests that serum resistin, leptin and adiponectin are correlated with T2DM occurrence as well as microangiopathy occurrence.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the role of homeobox A2(HOXA2) gene in cell growth, cellcycle and apoptosis of hepatoma cells, and discuss the feasibility that HOXA2 gene would be a potential therapy target of hepatoma. Methods Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and revers transcriptional polymerase chain reaction were performed to examine HOXA2 expression in tumorous and non-tumorous tissue of patients was matched with liver cancer. siRNAs were chemically synthesized to interference HOXA2 in PLC/PRF/5 and MHCC-97L cells. Growth curve and soft-agar colony formation assay were performed to evaluate cell growth, and cell cycle and apop-tosis were analyzed by flow cytometry. Results HOXA2 was upregulated in HCC samples compared with matched non-tumor tissues(P<0.05). Two siRNAs against HOXA2 gene were designed and synthesized to specially knock-down HOXA2 in PLC/PRF/5 and MHCC-97L cells. HOXA2 knockdown inhibited cellular growth and soft-agar colony formation in PLC/PRF/5 and MHCC-97L cells. And Fowcytometry analysis revealed that HOXA2 knock-down by RNA interference could result in G1 arrest and S decrease and promoted cellular apoptosis. ConclusionHOXA2 gene has an important role in cell growth of hepatoma cells.

ABSTRACT

From the perspective of Regenerative Medicine, the tissue generated in vitro can imitate the physiological and pathological tissue to a certain extent. However, the structures and functions of the in vitro tissue are very simple so that research on in vitro self-assembling and imitating of tissue development is necessary. The development of Nanotechnology and the technology of micro-structure makes the in vitro tissue assembling possible. As previous studies showed that, besides genetic material, tissue architecture and its micro-environment are closely related to morphogenesis of in vitro tissue. Thus, how to design and assemble microstructure to make the tissue molding still requires effort. How to predict and control the development mechanism in vitro is also a question needed to be resolved. In this essay, we reviewed the mechanism of assembling and imitating of in vitro tissue based on the theory of physics, biology and systemic integrated structure.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the curative effect of Qingkailing Injection in treating diabetic foot with ischemic gangrene in early stage and investigate it′s therapeutic mechanism. Methods 40 patients were divided into Qingkailing treatment group (treatment group) and Xuesetong treatment group (controlled group),4 weeks in a treatment course. The foot skin color, skin temperature, degree of tumefaction, rage of gangrene, ability of walking, degree of pain were observed and C-reactive protein (CRP),fibrinogen (Fib) in plasma were detected before and after the treatment respectively. Results After 4 weeks treatment by Qingkailing Injection, the various standards mentioned above in treatment group were improved obviously,Compared with treatment group (except Fib),There was remarkable significance by statistics (P

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the printing technique of spiral CT three-dimensional (3D) colour image. Methods The 3D colour images of 136 patients were printed, with the equipment of Marconi spiral CT, personnel computer, colour ink printer, and network switchboard. Results All printed images were satisfied by this method. Conclusion This technique is economic, simple, and useful, and can meet the need for clinical diagnosis and operation.
